Approach to learning:

When asked “What do you do?”, I reply by saying that I am an educator, not a teacher. For me, their meanings differ; a teacher imparts knowledge, whereas education is a way to facilitate learning in others, to draw out, or to guide.

Throughout most of my education, I felt that most teachers were trying to push knowledge in, rather than giving rise to understanding.

I aim to draw out the magic that already exists in everyone and remind each student of the wonder of our minds and the language we use to explore them.

My purpose is to ensure that every person I work with feels liberated and expanded. If education matters to you or yours, let’s talk.

My degree in Professional Musicianship, as well as my PGCE in Secondary Mathematics, are equally important to me - they are made of the same magic; proportion, symmetry, patterns and beauty.

Numbers are everywhere in the universe and are part of the human experience. Maths just happens, whether we recognise it or not.
